Thermal treatments covered by the National Health Service

Thermal treatments can either be covered by the National Health Service or must be paid for

Once a year, the National Health Service offers all Italian citizens a 12-day cure. If you want to take advantage of these thermal treatments, all you have to do is come to the Spa with your medical prescription (the National Health Service authorization is no longer required) and specify your diagnosis and cure (according to Ministerial Decree 15/12/94), your personal tax code, age and personal information.

Salvarola Spa has an agreement with the National Health Service for the following treatments:

• RESPIRATORY: inhalations, Aerosol, Humage and nebulizations (24 treatments);
• RHINOGENOUS DEAFNESS (24 treatments + audiometric test before and after treatment);
• MUD BATHS (12 treatments);
• BATHS (12 treatments);
• BATHS DERMATOLOGY
• HYDROMASSAGES VASCULAR PATHS
• HYDROPINOTHERAPY ""DRINK"
• VAGINAL IRRIGATIONS (12 treatments);
• LUNG VENTILATION (30 treatments)

Each therapy cycle includes a compulsory check-up.
All cures covered by the National Health Service still foresee the payment of a ticket that will amount to a maximum of € 50,00.

Some patients will not have to pay the ticket, but only a € 3,10 contribution as foreseen by law, depending on their income bracket:

• CHILDREN before turning 6;
• ADULTS who are 65 or over;
• PENSIONERS WITH MINIMUM PENSION who are over 60 and the UNEMPLOYED;
• THE DISABLED DUE TO PATHOLOGIES, but only for treatments that are related to their pathology;
• INVALIDS, following different modalities and according to the type and level of disability.

HEARING CONDITIONS

When you have a cold, catarrh often stops in the middle ear, occupying the hearing tubes which makes hearing a lot more difficult and alters pressure between the middle and outer ear. This disturbance is called rhinogenous deafness..

Suggested therapies: INHALATIONS, AEROSOL, TUBAL INSUFFLATIONS, POLIDREX , TUBAL REHABILITATION
Thanks to the mucolytic activity of solphur, this therapy removes catarrh from the tubes, throat and nose.

NOSE CONDITIONS

Excess catarrh caused by a cold can make breathing difficult and reduce your sense of smell causing you to suffer from migraines and sinusitis or rhinitis.

Suggested therapies: NASAL IRRIGATIONS, INHALATIONS, AEROSOL, HUMAGE OR MICRONIZING NASAL SHOWERS.
Thanks to the use of sulphur, iodide, bromide and sodium chloride, these treatments remove catarrh from your nose and paranasal sinuses (ethmoidal and maxillary).

THROAT CONDITIONS

Faringitis, laringitis, tonsillitis and cough, catarrh, irritations and the loss of your voice are very common conditions. These symptoms are generally called “sore throat” and can be caused by humidity, sudden changes in temperature, bacteria and viruses, pollution or smoke. The biggest damage is to the tissues.

Suggested therapies: INHALATIONS, AEROSOL, HUMAGE OR NASAL NEBULISATIONS This treatment uses the therapeutic benefits of sulphur, iodide, bromide and sodium-chloride.

BRONCHIAL CONDITIONS

Tracheitis and bronchitis with catarrh are caused by bacteria and viruses, smoke, pollution, humidity and sudden changes in temperature. Catarrh causes a damage to the tissues making them produce even more catarrh. There are also allergic forms requiring allergy tests that can be carried out at Salvarola Spa and are simple skin tests.

The therapy involves sulphur, iodide, bromide and sodium-chloride.

JOINT CONDITIONS

Joints are often subject to sub-acute processes that can be chronic or caused by a metabolic disorder, causing pain and difficulty in moving. Salty bromo-iodide muds have hormonal-mimetic properties, are hyper-mineralized and are rich in iodide and bromide, therefore they are prescribed to cure osteoarthrosis, post-trauma symptoms and chronic rheumatisms.

Suggested therapies: MUD BATHS, BATHS, OZONE HYDROMASSAGES, MASSAGES

SKIN CONDITIONS

The sun, cold weather, smog, radiations and all atmospheric events can irritate our skin making it itch or causing it to crack and grow wrinkles. These thermal waters can produce rejuvenation even for those cuts caused by conditions like eczema and psoriasis, etc.

Suggested therapies: BATHS, SHOWERS, HYDROMASSAGES.

CONDITIONS OF THE CIRCULATORY SYSTEM

A sedentary life, a job causing you to stand all the time, heavy legs, swelling to the lower limbs can cause pathologies to your lower limbs.

Suggested therapies: HYDROMASSAGES IN THERMAL WATERS, VASCULAR PATHS

GYNAECOLOGICAL ILLNESSES

Inflammations caused by toxic agents and bacteria cause vaginitis, salpingitis, etc, that can cause sterility if not cured.

Therapies: VAGINAL BATHS, MUD BATHS.
Solphur has an anti-catarrhal function and mends the tissues of the mucous. The iodide strengthens the body’s defence system, the bromide helps fight the irritation and the chloride cleanses and reduces inflammation.
